Chateau Trotanoy is located in Libourne, Pomerol - one kilometer west of Petrus. Once known as "Trop Ennuie" owned by the Girauds, they changed the name to "Trotanoy". they felt "Trop Ennuie" did not have the necessary panache to compete commercially with wines from the Medoc and Graves. Since 1953, Chateau Trotanoy has been owned by the firm of Jean-Pierre Moueix. The wines are vinified and handled in exactly the same way as Petrus, except that only one-third to one-half of the barrels used each year at Trotanoy are new. Opulently, rich intense full bodied. Usually needs a full decade of cellaring. Excellent with all red meats and game.
