Now Viewing: Argiolas Perdera IGT
This bright and easy red from Argiolas, one of the best wineries on the beautiful Isle of Sardinia, has clean lush fruit and good length. To give the best description I would say it tastes like a very good old vine Carignan with a little Syrah and Pinot Noir blended in. In other words it has silky tannins and cherry/berry flavors with hints of blueberry and spice. The nose is pretty with nice floral notes and that alone makes this simple wine worth it. Monica, the grape is thought to be a long forgotten Spanish varietal planted here at the same time they brought Grenache vines here. Very nice and even for such a hot year it shows good balance.
