Vine grower, propriétaire in Vosne-Romanée. The Grivot Family finds her origins in the Jura but already of the vine growers of this name are installed in Burgundy at the end of the XVIIIe century. They exploit vines on Nuits-Saint-Georges, Corgoloin and in High Coasts. Does Joseph Grivot settle in Vosne Roman? It is however his/her son, Gaston, father of Jean and grandfather of Étienne which paves the way with its descent. In 1919, it sells less vines to offer a great piece of CLOS VOUGEOT, great vintage among most famous of Burgundy. Proud man, it will make build a splendid gate of access to his vines, gate which one can still nowadays admire of the trunk road 74, skirting the Field of VOUGEOT in the west. He is also one of the first graduate oenologists of the University of Dijon in the Twenties. His/her Jean son will make in the same way a few years later. Together and to the wire of time, they will carry the Grivot Field towards an international fame. Like his father before him, Jean will make, in 1984, the acquisition of a beautiful piece of the great vintage and not least: 31 ares of Richebourg. Étienne will succèdera with his/her father definitively in 1987.
