Now Viewing: Barkan
The wine exhibits a deep, ruby tinged robe. The nose is redolent of ripe black plums and cherries with notes of spice and vanilla. It is a medium-bodied wine with good concentration and soft tannins balancing its plummy, black cherry richness.
Enjoy drinking this wine with meat: roastbeef of sirloin or roasted leg of lamb with garlic and wild herbs, fillet steak in a reduced red wine sauce or a rich casserole of daube,to name but a few of endless tempting possibilities.
The wine is also at ease with the cheese platter, especially with mature, hard cheese like aged Comté or a Vieux Cantal.
