The Latitude 41 brand has recently been added which features a premium range of wines incorporating the new Zork closure. The Estate was established in 1990 by Philip Jones and Sheryl Jones after deciding to purchase a 73 acre property in the Upper Moutere area in New Zealand's South Island. Vineyards were planted in 1990, and a winery was established in 1993. The first release of Spencer Hill wine was in 1994. Only very small volumes of Spencer Hill wines were made during the following four years with none being made in 1999. Production was resumed in 2000. In 2001 Spencer Hill wines started with the Coastal Ridge designation. The Coastal Ridge vineyard, just north of the city of Nelson was first planted in 1996 with additional acreage planted in 2001. In 2000 Spencer Hill moved it's home to this 100 acre property that has stunning views over Tasman Bay and the snow capped Mount Arthur Range. Spencer Hill Estate wines are made from this vineyard. We produce Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Syrah, Merlot and Pinot Noir. Spencer Hill Estate started making Kosher wines for the Royal Wine Corporation in 2005. These wines are distributed worldwide under the Goose Bay label.
