Now Viewing: Chateau Certan De May
Château Certan-de-May never appeared on my original list of Pomerol châteaux for one very good reason: I had never tasted the wine. Indeed, this is a rather obscure Pomerol property that nevertheless is located at the epicentre of the commune opposite Vieux-Château-Certan. The lauded 1982 vintage brought it to greater prominence yet ensuing vintages have not really built on that success and elevated to its rightful place as one of the élite Pomerol names. However, post-war vintages are legendary and many critics opine that in recent years, the wines have shown a significant improvement.
