Founded in 1853 in Douarnenez, Brittany, Connétable is the oldest canning facility of the world. For 150 years, Connétable has perpetuated the tradition of quality and innovation resulting from their ancestral know-how. The sardines are processed the old fashion way, by hand with the skilled eye and hand. Hand selection is followed by cleaning and then a 24 hour draining period before cooking and packing in oil, all by local women.
