Viña Alberdi, the youngest wine in the La Rioja Alta book, is not released until it is at least 4 to 5 years old thus qualifying as a "Reserva." The wine is almost 100% Tempranillo, the balance being Graciano and Viura. The appearance of the Alberdi is a cherry-colored garnet with a somewhat brick-red rim; the aromas are rich and spicy, with hints of cedar, cocoa, and fresh fruit. In the mouth it is exceptionally smooth. A well-rounded and elegant wine.
