Now Viewing: Dubonnet Aperitif
First produced in 1846 by Paris wine merchant Joseph Dubonnet, DUBONNET, like Byrrh, is an apéritif based on quinquina (quinine) blended with red wine and various spices. Dubonnet is an aperitif re-popularized in the late 1970's by an advertising campaign starring Pia Zadora. It is commonly mixed with lemonade, and forms part of many cocktails. Reputedly the preferred beverage of the French Foreign Legion, Dubonnet is now available in both Rouge and Blanc varieties. With its rich ruby color, spicy aroma and refreshing flavors, Dubonnet embodies the best of the aperitif category.
