Product Information: Brewed since the 1500's, Rauchbier literally translates to "smoke beer", as the malts are dried over an open fire, imparting a unique smoky/charred wood aroma. A rich amber/dark copper color, the initial smoky taste is overtaken by toffee flavored sweet malts before ending with a smoked meat flavor. A perfect beer for deli meats and robust barbeque. Other Notes: This "smoke beer," traditionally brewed in Bamberg, takes its flavor from malted barley dried over a fire of beechwood logs.
