Blackberry and currant character. Medium-bodied; good tannin structure.

WineSpectator Review:
Very pretty and perfumed, with plum, vanilla and chocolate aromas. Fullbodied, with silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. Best after 2011.
Parker Review:
Another sleeper of the vintage from this somewhat under the radar stepchild of Anthony Bartons more famous Leoville Barton, the 2004 Langoa Barton exhibits deep, concentrated, chunky, black currant and cherry fruit intermixed with notions of forest floor and aged beef blood. This impressive, fullbodied, powerful, ageworthy St.Julien is atypically backward and brooding. Anticipated maturity 2013 to 2025.
