From Brauereiausschank Schlenkerla in Bamberg, Germany. Exclusively brewed with smoked malt only - resulting in rich aromas and flavors of sweet caramel malts, charred wood and smoked meats. This is one of the last breweries in Germany that still do their own malting, which incorporates the time honoured process of drying the malt with a forced beech wood fire. From the Brewery: A Smokebock for the strongbeer-season (October through December). Matured for months in ancient rock-cellars underneath Bamberg and tapped freshly from the oakwood cask. Ideal with rich deli meats and cheeses.
