Founded in 1838 in Norgaro, right in the heart of the Bas Armagnac Appelation, renowned to be the best cru. Since then, traditions and distilling secrets have been passed on from father to son. Simply put, this producer is among the very finest. Supérior vintage armagnac selected from amongst our oldest reserves of Bas Armagnac. The vintage corresponds to the year of harvest. In 1969 Pierre Dartigalongue set up his distillery at Salles D'Armagnac. Each year the finest white wines are distilled into armagnac. From the moment it leaves the still the colourless, crystal-clear eau de vie is stored in seasoned 400-litre oak casks called "pièces". The armagnac is left to age for many years in the unusual 19th century two-story "chais". Over a period of time the tannic matter mingles with the liquid; evaporation produces "the Angels' share"; the eau de vie takes on colour and its aroma develops. Pascal's descendants, now the 5th generation, continue to produce fine armagnac in the time-honoured way and are proud to preserve the family tradition down to the last detail.
