Brilliant performance by Hubert de Bouard, the 2001 Angelus is a more restrained and delineated version of the 2000. Elegant, medium-bodied and rich, with a measured ripeness and moderate structure in the pure, nicely proportioned finish.

Intense aromas of earth, spice and new wood with fruit. Full-bodied and chewy with plenty of fruit and vanilla. Rich and exciting. Long finish. Angélus is a consistent winner and did well here. Best after 2006. 6,665 cases made. -RP
