WineSpectator Review:
Very mature, with a gamy nuance, this is smooth and appealing for its polished feel and harmony. Nice caramel and toast overtones add dimension.
Parker Review:
HautBrions 1953 is best purchased today in magnums or larger format bottles. Although it has been fully mature since its release, it has retained the hallmark, singed leather, tobacco leaf, superripe fragrance that makes HautBrion so distinctive. The wine is extremely soft, revealing considerable amber and rust at the edge, but it still possesses rich, creamy fruit and medium to full body.
