Tanzer Review: Saturated redruby. Deep, complex nose melds raspberry, underbrush, roasted herbs, mocha and flowers. Silky and suave on entry, then fresh and firm in the middle, with sweet red berry flavors dominating. This, too, boasts strong material, but today the wines somewhat tough tannins cut off the fruit on the finishin contrast to the way the wine behaved from barrel a year earlier. This will need several years of bottle aging. Other Notes: A hint of reduction cannot completely hide the spicy and complex black fruit aromas that lead to round and very rich, delicious, sexy and pure flavors and an abundantly sappy, decidedly punchy finish. This is a seriously impressive wine with firm structure, notable power and fine balance. Burghound | ||||
