Tanzer Review:
Musky, sappy nose offers iodine, chestnut, crushed stone and white truffle. Hugely ripe, broad and round, with superconcentrated flavors of peach, butter and stone. This is remarkably layered and largescaled for the vintage but without any undue weight. Finishes with outstanding power and persistence. Bigger than the Demoiselles but less refinedand less complex in the early going

Other Notes:
This is still extraordinarily primary with lactic hints and wood spice framing the otherwise elegant, airy and compelling white flower and citrus fruit suffused nose that leads to big, rich and muscled flavors that are dense textured, and deep, all wrapped in a finish that goes on and on. Like many wines from this terroir in 2004, there is more minerality than usual in stylistically, it leans in the direction of a great Chevalier than a Montrachet. Burghound
