The brilliant golden hue is wine-like and pretty; unblemished purity. The first whiffs detect nuances of charred meat, deep vanilla bean, and pipe tobacco; further aeration time stimulates more grainy/floral scents as well as cocoa/dark chocolate; most impressive is the fact that the cask strength spirit never gets in the way of the inhalations. The palate entry is seductively sweet, oaky, and slightly spicy; at midpalate, the taste profile cranks up the spirit warmth by a couple of notches as vivid flavors of malt, sweet oak, honey, nutmeg, and toffee dazzle the taste buds. Concludes warm, but not searing; sweet and succulent. A robust beauty from Scotland's most famous malt distillery. 5 stars - Highly Recommended - Spirit Journal
