"Good deep red. Sexy nose combines dark raspberry, Oriental spices and underbrush. Dense, silky and light on its feet; as concentrated, broad and palate-coating as this is, there's also terrific energy in the mouth. Long, slow-mounting finish features very suave tannins and subtle suggestions of flowers and minerals. With a bit of aeration, this showed good fullness without losing its suavity." - Stephan Tanzer Mar/Apr 06
Reserved and elegant nose of violets, spice and pure plumy dark fruit aromas that complement perfectly the suave, sweet and mouth filling flavors underpinned by buried tannins and huge length. This is a vibrant and very sophisticated wine and like the Echézeaux, the tannins are even more refined than usual with an utterly seductive inner-mouth perfume that is at once seductive and classy. A stunner of a wine and highly recommended. Drink 2014+.
Tanzer Review:
Full medium red. Aromas of black raspberry, minerals and flowers. Silky and supple, with restrained sweetness buffered by wellintegrated acidity. Nicely dense and fulland quite concentrated for the vintage. This very fresh wine finishes long and solid. Id hold off a good five or six years on this. Grivot told me that he leaves up to 12 clusters per vine here, as he does in his Echezeaux, due to the concentrating and yieldreducing effect of millerandage

This is much like the BeauxMonts with its cool, reserved and elegant nose of violets, spice and pure plumy dark fruit aromas that complement perfectly the suave, sweet and mouth filling flavors underpinned by buried tannins and huge length. This is a vibrant and very sophisticated wine and like the Echizeaux, the tannins are even more refined than usual with an utterly seductive innermouth perfume that is at once seductive and classy. A stunner of a wine that is both serious and classy. Recommended. Burghound
