This is a very ripe style of montepulciano and an excellent value. Dense red cherry fruit with a pronounced mineral streak and mouthcoating tannins. Might even be mistaken for syrah if tasted blind. Will undoubtedly soften with air and time, but its forward fruit is sufficient to offset the rough montepulciano tannins and make it very enjoyable now.
