Product Information: The intensely-colored wine is almost black with a purplish rim. It has great aromatic complexity, with marked notes of black and white pepper and native forest, along with intense violet floral notes. Elegantly structured with velvety, ripe and well-rounded tannins, it explodes on the palate, clearly demonstrating its force and concentration. Wine Spectator Review: Bold and fleshy, with lots of dark toast and cocoa leading the way for layers of pure blackberry, fig and currant fruit. There's nice definition through the finish, with tar and mineral notes chiming in. Delivers a lot without being bombastic. Drink now through 2009. Parker Review: The 2005 Syrah EQ is a saturated purple. It gives off an expressive bouquet of smoke, meat, mineral, and blueberry. The wine is layered and rich with gobs of peppery blue and black fruits. It has outstanding length and enough structure to evolve for 4-5 years. Drink this tasty Syrah through 2022. Tanzer Review: Inky purple. Explosively perfumed bouquet of fresh blackberry, mocha, smoked meat and incense. Pliant, medium-bodied dark berry flavors offer good freshness and energy, picking up dusty tannins with air. Becomes chewier on the back, with the sweet blackberry and mocha qualities echoing.
