WINEMAKER NOTES: The 2004 Blancaneaux showcases the rich lemon grass and mineral complexities of Roussanne, the dominant varietal. Marsanne, with its telling fig and apricot flavors and weighty texture adds length and viscosity, while Viognier adds heady aromatics of ginger and allspice. Together, the blend expresses elegance, an enticing perfume, stone fruit flavors and mineral qualities a reflection of the Estates distinctive terroir. Like many white wines, it is meant to be enjoyed in its youth; I recommend drinking it within one to five years of its release.
