2005 Dragonette Cellars Syrah Santa Ynez Valley 750ML

In 2005 we purchased two different clones of Syrah for our final assemblage. The Tierra Alta Vineyard on Ballard Canyon Road provided us with the Estrella River clone, and a small vineyard in Los Olivos called Cuatro Vientos gave us Clone 99 (aka Tablas or Beaucastel clone), each of which provide different flavor profiles and therefore add complexity to the blend. After completing fermentation, the 05 Syrah was raised in small oak barrels - a mix of approximately 15% new French, 15% new American, and the rest 1 and 2 year old French oak. After 15 months in barrel the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
