Reyka Icelandic Water 330 ML
Product Information:
Reyka, which means “steam” in Icelandic, uses Iceland’s natural resources combined with environmentally conscious and innovative production techniques. The distillery operates on thermal energy—steam drawn from local hot-springs. The vodka is filtered through lava rocks from under Europe's largest glacier, the Vatnajokull Glacier. In a country with few trees, Reyka’s innovative Master Distiller Kristmar Olafsson developed an exclusive two-stage lava rock filtration system to enhance purity and impart a unique Icelandic “terroir.” Due to the small size of the still and the intricacies of the distillation, only three employees handcraft Reyka vodka in small batches creating 250 unique cases per batch. This micro operation at the Rekya distillery seems appropriate in a country so small it only recently acquired its 300,000th inhabitant and counting (slowly). Iceland is steeped in an enchanting history, inspired by its ethereal landscape. This land of Fire and Ice is defined by its spectacular and unique natural resources: glaciers, hot springs, active volcanoes and vast lava deserts. The hamlet of Borgarnes, 65 miles west of Iceland’s capital Reykjavik, was chosen as the site for the country’s first distillery. The new Reyka Distillery is the most northerly distillery in the world. The natural spring water drawn from the nearby Grabrok spring is so low in mineral content it requires no treatment prior to distillation. The distillers consider the water so special, they have actually bottled it, Reyka Water.
