A candidate for top Albarino of my Spanish tastings, the 2005 Bodegas Don Olegario is medium gold with honey and apricot aromas and flavors. On the palate the wine is viscous with enough acidity to hold things together. Very Condrieu-like at about half the price. Score: 90. —Wine Advocate Jay Miller, February 2007. Alcohol: 12.5%.
Appearance: A golden/yellowish colour with straw-coloured tones. Bright. Aroma: A bouquet with hints of ripe apple, peach, wild fruit and dried fruits. Notable for its complexity and elegance. Palate: Smooth on entry, but with good acidity. It presents a variety of fruit flavours. Long-lasting, full-bodied and well-structured... an elegant wine. Serve with seafood, fish, poultry, rice dishes, fresh or semi-cured cheese.
