2006 Happy Canyon Vineyard Chukker Red 750ML

Blend of 60% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon is a Bordeaux style blend of mostly Cabernet Franc, with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from warm Happy Canyon in Santa Ynez. The wine is made by Doug Margerum, and the Cabernet Franc definitely shows its colors with flavors of plum, peppercorn, lavendar and herb. The Cab and Merlot ring in as well with ripeness, acidity, and tannin. This is definitely a wine drinker's wine, and also great with food. Think grilled lamb loin, rapini, and roasted fingerlings.
