Parker Review:
From quartz soils, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Quartz possesses a dark ruby/purple color, a distinctive minerality (a characteristic of this cuvee), beautiful freshness, vibrant acidity, medium to full body, dense black cherry and cassis fruit flavors, and an intriguing floral component. The tannins are moderate in this beauty. Made more in the style of a grand cru Musigny than a typical Chateauneuf, it should drink well for 10 to 15 years. 90 92 points.
Tanzer Review:
Bright ruby. Powerful raspberry and blackberry aromas complicated by suave baking spices, licorice and lavender. Lush red berry preserve flavors are brightened by zesty minerality and supported by silky tannins, which add gentle grip to the finish. Very sexy wine I suspect this will be easy to enjoy soon after release.
