Wine Spectator Review:
Currant, mineral and aromatic bark on the nose turns to cocoa on the medium palate, with lightly firm tannins and a clean finish. A bit hollow midpalate, but interesting. Drink now.

Parker Review:
The 2006 Brentino is proof of Maculans mastery at play. A blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine opens with elegant aromatics that meld into a palate of sweet dark fruit, herbs and toasted oak. There is excellent depth here, not to mention superb persistence and balance, particularly at this level. In short, this is a terrific value-priced red from Veneto. Anticipated maturity 2008-2012.
