Other Notes: Winemaker's Notes - The wine is a joyous marriage of Pinot Noir grapes from our new Solomon Hills Vineyard and our home at Bien Nacido ('Wellborn' in Spanish) hence the name, T. Solomon Wellborn. The "T" in T. Solomon Wellborn is, of course, for Tantara. How it came to be we blended stately old with spanking new. That is, we took wine produced from vines planted in 1973 at Bien Nacido and blended them with wine made from vines that were planted in 1999 at our Solomon Hills Vineyard. Solomon Hills, by the way, is one of the coolest (geographically and otherwise) grape growing sites in California. We matched that site with five clonal varieties ideally suited for such a location. | ||||
