Parker Review: The 2006 Merlot Bennett Valleys deep ruby/purple hue is followed by scents of chocolate, black cherries, coffee, and mocha. Medium-bodied, soft, and supple, it should drink nicely for 5-6 years. (2008-2014) Tanzer Review: Medium red. Redcurrant and cherry aromas are complemented by dried rose, mint and smoked meat. Fresh red fruit flavors show good depth, with dusty tannins providing shape. Picks up zesty mineral and floral qualities on the finish, which leaves smoky rose and tobacco notes behind. This reminded me of a traditional Saint-Emilion. Other Notes: Ripe and voluptuous, with very rich, long-lasting berry, cherry, mocha and spice flavors, liberally oaked and wrapped into fine, sturdy tannins. Lacks a bit of complexity, but otherwise a beautiful Merlot that trades on the varietys opulently fleshy sensuality. Wine Enthusiast | ||||
