Parker Review: Tablas Creek's flagship white, the 2008 Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc, is a blend of 65% Roussanne, 30% Grenache Blanc, and 5% Picpoul. It offers up sumptuous aromas of orange marmalade, lemon blossom, and white currants along with spice, crushed rock, and subtle earthy notes. This full-bodied, rich, lively white should drink well for 4-5 years. Tanzer Review: Light, bright gold. Pungently floral aromas of lime, lemongrass and green apple, with notes of dusty minerals and honey. Deep citrus flavors are firmed by gentle chalk and white pepper qualities and show a strong tangerine note. Tangy and refreshing on the finish, leaving behind sweet citrus and mineral notes. This wine is really lively for a southern Rhone white blend. Other Notes: Aromas of Braziian limes and lemon with flowers. Lemon crud. Rich. Full-bodied, with wonderful dense and agile palate of dried apples, mango and figs. Love the finish. Caramel, honey and lemons. Rousanne really comes out. 62% Rousanne, 26% Grenache Blanc and 12% Picpoul Blanc. Drink now or hold. James Suckling, 94 points | ||||
