Wine Spectator Review:
Full and long, supervelvety and rich, with plum and raspberry. This is a really big Le Bon Pasteur. Score range 93-96

Parker Review:
Another terrific offering from well-known oenologists Dany and Michel Rolland, the 2009 may or may not eclipse their 2005 and 2008, but it offers wonderful notes of caramel, mocha, black cherries, and black currants in a seamless, full-bodied, opulent style. It possesses a dense ruby/purple color, lots of glycerin, superb purity, and a textured, long, concentrated mouthfeel. As always, the brilliance of this team transcends its terroir in Pomerol. Enjoy the 2009 Bon Pasteur over the next 15-20 years. 92-94 points.

Tanzer Review:
Ruby-red. Superripe aromas of raspberry, iron, sweet spices, tobacco and sweet oak. Lush, broad and ripe, with sumptuous red cherry and blackcurrant flavors saturating the palate without leaving any undue impression of weight. The enticing, fine-grained finish shows lovely floral lift and a light touch. I found a distinct aromatic resemblance between this wine, from a property owned by Michel and Dany Rolland, and Italy's famous Masseto, the 100%-merlot wine from Ornellaia where Rolland consults. Perhaps the best young Le Bon Pasteur of the last 20 years, and a wine that will one day rival the 1982 and 1989.

Other Notes:
A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, this has a ripe plum and macerated black cherry nose, that become quite floral and refined with aeration...but it needs patience to coalesce in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, quite silky tannin, very good grip with a well defined, quite tannic finish that has excellent freshness and backbone. This is a superb Bon Pasteur from Michel and Dany Rolland. 93-95, Neal Martin
