Full ruby-red. Wilder aromas of black fruits, leather, licorice and minerals, with a hint of game. Rich, lush and creamy-sweet but given shape and verve by the oak element and fresh acidity. This is really stuffed with mouthcoating violety dark berry fruit. Finishes long, with broad tannins and a black cherry flavor. As in so many top vintages, this would make an ideal ringer in a tasting of premier crus from Nuits and Vosne. 89-91 points, Stephen Tanzer
