Wine Spectator Review: Beckmens more limited offerings include the 2007 Syrah Clone #1 Purisima Mountain. Camphor, black raspberry, flower, and blackberry liqueur notes are found in this full-bodied, dense, chewy, classic Syrah. More similar to a northern Rhone Hermitage than its siblings, it should evolve for a decade or more. (2009-2019) Tanzer Review: Inky ruby. Complex bouquet of blueberry, mulberry, smoked meat, incense and dried flowers. Lush and creamy, offering sweet, oak-spiced dark berry preserve flavors and a velvety texture. The harmony between the fruit and tannins is impressive and the finish is juicy, focused and very long. This is complex enough to enjoy now but I'd give it at least another four years of bottle aging. | ||||
