Parker Review: Bodegas Monteabellons 2009 Avaniel is an unoaked cuvee of Tempranillo. Dark ruby-colored, the nose displays aromas of spice box, violets, cassis, and cherry. On the palate it has a solid core of fruit, a bit of structure, and very good length. Drink this friendly offering over the next 4 years. It is a preview of just how good the top cuvees from Ribera del Duero will be upon release in 2-3 years. Tanzer Review: Ruby-red. Redcurrant and cherry on the slightly pinched nose opens up with air to show candied red fruit and herbal qualities that repeat on the palate. Finishes with good tangy bite and a note of candied rose. This drinks well with a bit of aeration. | ||||
