Product Information: (English style Barleywine): A flat, oxidized English style barley wine which is much more similar to a sweet sherry than a beer. The highly meticulous and complicated brewing process involves a 2.5 hour boil of a hyper-concentrated wort, a primary fermentation of 25 days in steel vessels, and then after a sterile filtration (to eliminate primary yeast strains) the beer is transferred into a steel vessel that is covered with a transparent membrane called an "oxygen hat." After periodic tastings during the conditioning process that ranges from 6 to 24 months, the brewer eventually decides when it is time to bottle this extremely limited production beer. Fans of Samuel Adams Utopias will want to try this very rare, and much more affordable concoction. Additionally, this beer can be enjoyed over a period of several months due to the fact that there is no bottle conditioning or carbonation. | ||||
