Product Information: Winemaker's notes - In this vintage, the Cuvée’s blend was comprised of 60% Ramondo fruit and the remaining 40% drawn from our Estate production. With some of the issues that 2009’s harvest entailed, the blending effort presented intriguing challenges. As a result, the wine’s lush berry spice aromatics and supple texture of the wine are a particularly gratifying outcome. It was aged 11 months in 450 liter Kadar puncheons (10% of which were new) and was bottled in August of 2010. Tanzer Review: Bright purple. Youthfully wound-up aromas of blackberry, mulberry and violet, plus a strong note of licorice. Deeply pitched dark fruit flavors are given an exotic character by notes of violet pastille and star anise. Supple and expansive on the firm, gripping, intensely spicy finish. This textbook syrah should age well. | ||||
