The estates 2009 Vosne-Romanee is a flagship wine, as production is around 17,000 bottles, an enormity by Burgundian standards. The Vosne is made from a blend of parcels that are vinified in three cuves and then assembled into the final blend. Delicate, spiced notes lead to a harmonious core of fruit in this supple, harmonious wine. Anticipated maturity 2017-2029.
Medium red. Very ripe red fruit, chocolate and menthol aromas lifted by flowers and minerals. Supple, fruit-driven and sweet, with a smooth texture given shape by harmonious acidity. As attractive as this village wine already is, it's still tightly coiled and capable of gaining in complexity with time in bottle. Finishes ripely tannic and long.
A very Vosne nose is both seductive and highly spiced as are the very suave, round and fleshy middle weight flavors that culminate in a detailed, intense and mineral-inflected finish that, despite the richness of the mid-palate, is actually linear in shape at the present. This is really quite a nice villages and worth considering. Burghound
