"The 2012 Bordeaux en primeur campaign presents plenty of opportunities—and challenges—to the châteaus, négociant houses, retailers and customers all over the world. The vintage quality is considered to be fair, with bright spots, especially on the Right Bank" - Wine Spectator. We anticipate the Chateaux 2012 prices to be the lowest in a number of years, which will make this a superb year in terms of investment. We also expect perhaps the greatest quality to be found in Right bank, most notably Pomerol and St. Emilion, with the Left bank wines holding to a more classic and restrained style. Wally's Christian Navarro will be sharing his tasting and travel notes, as they come in.
"The good news is that prices are down between 30 percent and 40 percent on many of the top wines. This makes it interesting to all of us who love a delicious bottle of Bordeaux", James Suckling.
"The 2012 vintage is all fruit, nothing but fruit". Pierre Olivier Clouet
Technical Director at Château Cheval Blanc.
"2012 is a cross between the 2008 and 2010 vintages. Great potential!", Nicolas Glumineau
Technical Director at Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, Pauillac.
