Wine Spectator Notes
Gorgeous aromas of crushed blackberry and currant. Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and a long, caressing finish. This is a Ducru with reserve and lots of finesse. Best after 2011.
Wine Advocate Notes
Ruby-red. Cool, vibrant aromas of black cherry, menthol, lead pencil and coconutty oak. Dense, pliant and fine-grained, with lovely sweetness of dark fruit flavor, and a hint of crystallized berries. Possesses less muscle than the 2005 but this is in a similar style. Finishes sweet, classy and quite long. Showing very well today. I note that I referred to this vintage last spring as in a "distinctly modern style." The 2005, with its riper fruit. appears to go a step further.
