You could lose yourself in these aromatics alone, as the remarkably pretty and layered 2018 Rosso di Montalcino displays wild strawberries, peppery herbs, black tea, crushed stone and flowery undergrowth. It’s cool-toned and poised, casting red and purple-tinged fruits across a feminine frame, motivated by brisk acids, as saline-minerals settle in toward the close. This finishes fresh and clean with a gentle tug of fine tannins under an air of violets and hints of licorice. -Eric Guido, Vinous
