Wines to pair with our Memorial Day Dinner Box:

2018 Chateau Gassier Rose Esprit

Wally's Price: $14

Vivid orange-pink. High-pitched strawberry, peach and jasmine scents are complemented by building floral and herb nuances. 2019 Happy Canyon Vineyard Piocho Sauvignon Blanc

Wally's Price: $29

The finished wine exhibits aromas of juicy fruit, lime zest, baked candied grapefruit with hints of fig and vanilla. The wine is bright and tight with luxurious and harmonious persistence. The ripe rich Semillon complements the tight structure of Sauvignon Blanc. In the mouth the wine portrays the minerality of our soils with rich fruit balanced by tart crisp acidity. Pairs well with grilled fish, shellfish, roasted herbed chicken, and goat cheese." - Producer Notes

2017 Saldo Zinfandel by The Prisoner Wine Company

Wally's Price: $29

Toasted, smoky aromas give a bold first impression and beefy black pepper flavors initially reinforce it, but concentrated focused fruit starts to unwind on the palate, revealing ripe and lush black cherry and blackberry. This full bodied, flavorful and firm-textured wine comes from The Prisoner.

Blended of 47% Syrah, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 3% Sangiovese and 2% Viognier, the 2014 Todos Proprietary Red Wine reveals a medium to deep garnet-purple color and a pronounced blackberries, blueberry pie and cassis-scented nose with an Indian spices and black pepper-laced undercurrent, plus a waft of lavender. Soft, medium-bodied, perfumed and elegant in the mouth, this finely crafted beauty offers great seamlessness and harmony, finishing long and spicy.

2016 Justin Isosceles

Wally's Price: $79

Dark ruby/purple core, lighter in color toward the rim. Moderate plus viscosity with slow forming, slightly stained tears. Highly aromatic with ripe black cherry and cassis fruit, vanilla and cinnamon spice with cedar, graphite, dried autumn leaf and licorice notes over an attractive toasted oak background. Dry, full-bodied with ripe, complex black fruit of cherry and blackcurrants layered with baking spice on the entry. The mid palate has continuing ripe fruit with savory dried leaf elements, cedar, anise, camphor and a bit of cocoa surrounded with firm, chewy tannins and sweet spice notes that add complexity as the palate evolves. Sustained fruit, spice, and savory elements mix through a very long, complex and fresh finish with lingering tannins. The 2016 ISOSCELES is full-bodied, complex and balanced and pairs well with rich, full-flavored dishes. If you can, try cellaring some of your 2016 ISOSCELES to better experience the added complexity and finesse that only time can bring to this exceptional wine. - Producer notes
