Wine guru Stephane Derenocourt appears to have tamed some of the blatant oakiness often found in young vintages of Ferrand-Lartigue. The result is a denser, richer, more balanced effort possessing medium to full body as well as loads of exuberant black raspberry and cherry fruit intermixed with pain grille and spice. Soft tannin along with abundant richness suggest this beautifully pure, long 2005 should be consumed during its first 12-15 years of life.- Robert Parker
